6 mos pictures

Soleil woke up with a tooth peeking out of her gums yesterday. Today she bit down on me when I was nursing her. Boy those baby teeth are sharp! Guess she just needed to try out her new tool. Before her tooth came out she started sticking out her tongue as you can see in some of these pics. I made her some baby food...her first solids! She has had bananas, peaches, carrots, and sweet potato so far. She has only had each one a couple of times so I am not sure what her favorites are yet. She always has to wash it down with a little thumb. It's all about the thumb! Soleil fell in love with Isabella's baby doll when we were over at the Navarro house. Here she is kissing or rather trying to eat the baby.

June 5.5 to 6 months

I have enjoyed not working and spending my time with Soleil the past two weeks. We started a baby Sign and Sing class. The first class Soleil fussed the whole time. I guess she was tired! The second class she enjoyed throroughly. I know she is too young to do the signs herself but it isn't too early for us to start using them with her. She is fascinated by the other children in her class. They are all older than her and very mobile. She just stares at them and flaps her arms. She speaks to other children the same way she speak to the animals. It is a very gentle and light cooing sound. We are going to take a swimming class later in the summer with Joyce and Isabella.

We bought a blow-up swimming pool for the back yard. Soleil has a little crab blow-up float that she sits in and pushes herself around in the water. The water isn't very deep so she just "crabs" her legs around the pool. We have enjoyed the pool with our friends Hali and Spencer.

I have noticed that Soleil is a very serious baby. She smiles but not often and it take a lot to get her to giggle. She just seems to be taking everything in all around her. She is very alert to movement and sounds. She mostly smiles at and talks to the animals. When we get her to laugh by doing something usually the next time we do it, it no longer works. We have to keep searching for new ways to make her laugh. Daddy can get her to laugh by having her lie down and making her wiggle across the bed.

She stayed with my friend Joyce when I went to the dentist the other day and she took a 3.5 hour nap! We couldn't believe it! We have been running around so much every day that we aren't really sure WHAT her schedule is. Yesterday and today she napped 2 hours too. Maybe we just need to cut back on errands at noon time so she can have her uninterrupted sleep. Maybe it will help her return to her early bedtimes. At this point she doesn't want to go to bed until about 11PM. She will fuss from 9-11.

Robbie has been working awful hours and late hours. Since he got his promotion to Team Lead his hours are supposed to be 10AM to 7Pm, but he has to stay until everything is finished. On Fri night he didn't get home until 10:30! We sure do miss him. I know he misses seeing his girls too.

Here are some pics. Soleil dressed up as the Chesire Cat for an Alice in Wonderland un-birthday party for our friend Grace who moved away. We miss you Grace!
