Christmas 2006

We went out to Alabama for Christmas this year. We had a wonderful time visiting Robbie's family. Soleil was sick with fever the first few days, so she wasn't so social at first but she soon warmed up (as the fever cooled down). She got some more molars while we were there. She learned many new words too. The major one of the trip was "fish". Robbie's parents have one of those singing fish on the wall and she was fascinated by it. She learned how to push the button herself and then she would look around at everyone's expression to see if they were watching and then she would wrinkle up her nose and smile. She also enjoyed feeding the chickens. Paw-paw hadn't seen her since July so they had a lot of catching up to do. It was nice to spend time with family.

Soleil turns one!

We celebrated Soleil's first birthday on an amazingly warm Saturday afternoon. She had a great time with all of her friends and Mommy and Daddy's friends too! Soleil enjoyed her first taste of cake. She had her very own and was very careful at first to pull off the individual flowers and eat them. All the fairies in attendance gave Soleil a hand opening up her gifts. Everyone left around 6pm. We put her in her high chair to prepare her some dinner and when we turned around we saw that she was fast asleep! She had never fallen asleep in her high chair before.

Thanksgiving

To celebrate Thanksgiving we took a trip up to Utica and Clinton, New York to visit with family. It was the first time my two sisters and their families met Soleil. It was neat seeing all the cousins all together for the first time. It was Soleil's first plane ride. She did incredibly well on teh flight out. We even got compliment about how good she was or that the people didn't even know there was a baby on the plane. The trip home was a different story! She wouldn't stop fussing and didn't want to sit down at all. We also drove up to Niagara Falls with my dad. Boy was it cold up there, especially at the falls because it was so windy. We visited an aviary and Soleil was excited about seeing all the birds. The birds fought over who would be able to use Robbie's dreds for their nest!

November

It has been so long since my last confession, er I mean blog post! I am not sure if I am going to have much time right now but I am going to try...In November we enjoyed the outdoors, especially at Jessica's new house. She has the most amazing back yard. Soleil enjoyed pushing her new wagon all around the house and the yard.
