Most of May I was busy with play rehearsal and then the run of the play. Daddy and Soleil got to spend quality time together. May was also a month of rain, rain, and more rain. The good news is that we haven't really ever had to water the yard or the gardens, but all that rain brought a whole swarm of mosquitos.
Sol and Daddy returned to Scarborough Faire a second time with Zoie and rode like royalty in her fancy wagon.
Soleil attended Karolina's and Fabiola's birthday parties. I think she is starting to catch on to the whole birthday craze. Karolina's party was a princess party and Soleil wore a lovely green gown. Fabiola's celebration was at Gymboree and Sol was climbing all over everything and loving ever minute of it!
When Daddy worked late Soleil liked to get on the computer and type him messages on the messenger. He would send really funny things to pop up on the screen.
Soleil really started using all the signs we had been teaching her this month. Towards the end of the month her spoken vocabulary exploded. Now she learns new words each day and tries to repeat a lot of what she hears.
She now walks around the house pushing her babies in their strollers, puts them to "night-night", puts them on the potty, kisses them, puts them on the dogs, etc. She is all about the babies! We have been getting a lot more sleep in the house lately. Soleil started letting us put her down still awake and walking out of the room without her screaming at us. She lies down, grabs her blanket close and sucks her thumb. Sometimes she wants to be rocked a little, or music put on. We ask her yes/no questions and she answers us, like: "Do you want to listen to your music?". She still sometimes will wake up once during the night. I nurse her and she goes right back into her bed within 10 minutes. She has been getting much better with the potty too. The other day we used 2 diapers all day because she used the potty so much. That was our best day ever! Then today we used about 8! You never know what she will want to do. But she IS getting better at telling us when she wants to go.
