Our first appointment with the midwife at 3 months was really stressful for both Robbie and I. The only other appointments that we had were during our last pregnancy and we were unable to find a heartbeat. We were nervous this time around! We had the midwife Lynn who we really like because she helped us through the miscarriage. We were glad it was her. We asked her if before all the testing and talking we could just try to find the heartbeat first to settle our nerves. She understood. She was unable to find it at first and our hearts stopped! She them pushed the uterus up and we finally heard it. Robbie and I both got teary-eyed and were so relieved. Lynn actually had some tears in her eyes too. She was happy to be able to give us the good news. We didn't hear much of what Lynn had to say after that. We were kind of in a daze leaving the birth center. We decided to go to lunch at our favorite restaurant Kalachandji's. On the way I couldn't keep the news any longer and called our families. We were excited to share our news. Our due date was extimated to be December 21st, winter solstice day.
